The campsite remains open until the 6th November 2011.

This weekend will see the ‘Power of the Human Spirit‘ as 73 year old Staffordshire man, John Dawson, attend a training session for the 10 in 10 marathon.

The training session is an opportunity for the athletes to view the route before beginning a series of runs around the Windermere course. John is hoping to break the record as the oldest runner to complete the course.

The Brathay Marathon 10 in 10 takes place in May and will see 18 runners attempting 10 marathons in 10 days. It’s a tough course and one that will test the stamina and endurance of the fittest athletes. John has overcome a catalogue of medical issues, including a recent heart attack, but he is determined to break the record in 2011.
